Welcome To Search and Rescue Dog Foundation, Inc.

To all the men and women who have served at Ground Zero and other disaster and emergency sites since 2001, we would like to thank you for your selfless dedication

2011 is only 6 months old, and already this year we have had many disasters and floods that have taken the lives of our fellow Americans. We at the SAR Dog Foundation would like to continue to do our part to provide even more SAR K9s to assist the recovery efforts in these situations. PLEASE consider making a donation to our foundation to assist in the training and purchase of K9s to assist these brave, selfless men and women in their efforts...!!

Every donation no matter how large or small is greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU

"... People Helping Dogs to Save Lives ..."

The Search and Rescue Dog Foundation, Inc. a 501c(3) was established in 2005, to assist volunteer k-9 handlers in the replacement of their dogs no longer able to perform their search work.

After returning from deployment to the World Trade Center on 9/11/01, my beloved K-9, Anna became ill. It was soon determined she would no longer be able to perform as a search dog.  When neighboring elementary school teachers read about Anna, they decided to involve their 700 pupils, showing that "kids can make a difference".

On a warm, sunny January day, 700 elementary school children, teachers, parents and a community came together during a walk-a-thon, to raise the funds necessary to purchase a new working partner for me. Anna, her head resting on an American flag was too weak to sit up, but gladly accepted hugs and kisses from many of the children.

It was through the support and generosity of the town of Haddonfield, NJ, that my new SAR partner, Tango, is by my side today. It is by this selfless act,  that the Search and Rescue Dog Foundation was born.

Sincerely,
Sarah R. Atlas &
K-9 Tango
